What is the InBodyBAND, and how is it different from other fitness trackers?
InBodyBAND is the world’s first wearable body composition analyzer that tracks your body fat and muscle mass. Unlike other trackers, it allows you to go beyond counting steps and measures what really matters: changes in your body composition.
How do I set the time on the InBodyBAND? Can I switch from military time to a 12-hour clock?
Time is automatically set after syncing with your smartphone. Currently, the InBodyBAND displays time in military time only.
Can I swim or shower with the InBodyBAND?
Do not swim or shower with your InBodyBAND. The InBodyBAND’s water resistance level is IP56, meaning that it’s water/splash resistant only.
What size InBodyBAND should I wear?

Can I change my straps to a different color or size?
You are able to change your straps anytime you like. Simply loosen the strap by lifting upwards from where the strap meets the device to remove and replace the strap.

How does the InBodyBAND measure my body composition?
The InBodyBAND measures the impedance of the upper body using four electrodes (two finger and two wrist electrodes). It’s crucial that you perform an InBody Test in the correct posture with the device properly placed on your wrist to obtain accurate results. Click here to learn more about the correct posture.
Can I use any two fingers to measure body composition and heart rate?
For accurate measurements, please use your thumb and index finger when testing.
How does the InBodyBAND measure heart rate?
The InBodyBAND uses ECG (electrocardiogram) technology to measure your heart rate. ECG is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart.
How does my tracker count steps?
The InBodyBAND uses an internal 3D accelerometer and an advanced algorithm to measure your movements.
Will the InBodyBAND track cycling, yoga, or other non-step-based workouts?
The InBody app allows you to log the duration and effort level of a variety of different workout types, so you will get credit and an estimated caloric burn for non-step-based activities.
How does the InBodyBAND track sleep?
The InBodyBAND uses a precise motion sensor and a powerful algorithm to automatically track your sleep based on your movement. Once the InBodyBAND recognizes that you are sleeping, it organizes this time into three segments: deep, light, and wake. Please be sure to sync your InBodyBAND with the InBody app at least 5 minutes after you wake up.
When does my tracker reset data, and what happens to the previous day's data?
The InBodyBAND stores data up to 7 days, and it resets at 12:00 AM every day. You will need sync your InBodyBAND with the InBody App to view the previous day’s data.
How long does the battery last? How do I charge it?
The InBodyBAND has a 7 - 10 day battery life. The battery will drain more quickly with frequent usage. The InBodyBAND comes with a USB charging cable. To charge your InBodyBAND, remove it from your wrist, remove the micro USB cover on the left side of the BAND, and plug in the USB cable accordingly.
How do I clean my InBodyBAND?
We recommend using a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently wipe down the InBodyBAND.
Where can I download the InBody App?
The InBody App is available for free in the App Store and Google Play. To download, search 'InBody'.
Is my phone compatible with the InBodyBAND?
The InBodyBAND is compatible with:
- iPhone running iOS 7.0 and above with Bluetooth 4.0 or later
- Android running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) and above with Bluetooth 4.0 or later
How do I set up a new InBodyBAND?
You can set up a new device using the InBody App. Click the gear icon to enter the Settings menu and click “Devices”. Press “Sync New” to complete setting up your InBodyBAND.
How do I update the InBodyBAND firmware?
If there are any updates available, you will be notified when your InBodyBAND syncs with the InBody App. Before the update, please make sure that you have more than 50% charge on the InBodyBAND battery.
Can I delete data?
You are able to delete your InBody Results from the Settings menu on the InBody App. To delete sleep data, you can delete different segments of your sleep in the sleep menu in the App.
How do I receive call notifications and text messages on my InBodyBAND?
You can turn on your Call/SMS alarms using the InBody App. Once you are in the App, press the gear icon, scroll down, and select Call/SMS alarm. You can turn the call and SMS alarm on and off.
How do I change my App language?
The InBody App currently offers 4 different languages: English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can change the languages by going to the Settings menu in the App.
How do I set goals with the InBodyBAND?
You can manually set 'Step' and 'Calories Burned' goals in the Settings menu on the InBody App. Select 'Goals' under the Settings menu to customize your goals (the default goal is 10,000 steps a day and 950 kcals burned).
How do you set a time alarm?
Time alarms can be set using the InBody App. Select the Gear icon at the top right of the app, scroll down, and select 'Time Alarm'. From there, you can set a time that you would like to be alerted. Please note that the InBodyBAND currently only uses military time.
My InBodyBAND won’t sync to the InBody App.
For iOS (Please make sure that your iPhone is iPhone 4S/iOS 7.0 or later):
1. To completely close the App, double click the home button and swipe up to close the InBody App.
2. Restart Bluetooth by going into Settings > Bluetooth .
3. Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on.
4. Under “My Devices” make sure the InBodyBAND is connected.
5. If it’s not connecting, try clicking InBodyBAND and press Forget this Device .
6. To reinstall the InBodyBAND, tap InBodyBAND under Other Devices in the Bluetooth menu.
7. Restart the InBody App and try syncing it again.
For Android devices (Please make sure that your Android phone is running Android 4.3 with BLE 4.0 or later):
1. To completely close the App, either press and hold the home button OR press the Task Button, then slide left to close the InBody App. 2. Restart Bluetooth by going into Settings > Bluetooth 3. Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. 4. Under “Paired devices” make sure that your InBodyBAND is connected. 5. If it’s not connecting, click the gear icon next to InBodyBAND and press Unpair. 6. To reinstall the InBodyBAND, tap InBodyBAND in Available devices in the Bluetooth menu. 7. Restart the InBody App and try syncing it again.
My InBody Test results seem inaccurate.
Please follow the guidelines below for the most accurate results:
1. Measure before going through rigorous training or exercise – your body composition data tends to fluctuate after going through a lot of motion.
2. Avoid testing after taking a long shower or going to a sauna; after sweating, the test results may change temporarily.
3. The testing environment should be about room temperature. When your body temperature is too high or low, your body composition results will fluctuate.
4. If you are female, avoid testing during your menstrual cycle as body water tends to fluctuate.
5. Test under similar conditions– it is suggested that you test at a similar time in a similar environment when you are repeat testing (Ex. The suggested time to test is after you wake up in the morning on an empty stomach).
My InBodyBAND keeps displaying “TRY AGAIN” whenever I try to perform an InBody Test or Heart Rate Test.
Usually, “TRY AGAIN” comes up when your skin is too dry or when it’s not in full contact with your skin. Try moistening your skin where it comes into contact with the electrodes and make sure that the electrodes are in complete, direct contact with your arm.
My InBody Test results are not showing up on the InBody App.
InBody Test results will only be saved to the InBody App when the test is initiated through the InBody App. Please make sure to perform the InBody Test with the InBody App if you want to save the results.
